Warner Bros, Disney and BTV successes for Film Academy for Talents students

In recent weeks, talents who trained at the Film Academy’s school have successfully appeared in international productions by Warner Bros and Disney, while another student won a role in several episodes of the BTV series "Dads".

Young talent from Belogradchik Nikolay Nikolov continues his successful path by believing in himself, taking initiative and seeking more and more acting opportunities.

His latest appearance is in the Warner Bros production "The history of mankind-slightly", where he plays the modest role of "shit man" (a Neanderthal), but does so as a true professional, following the maxim that "there are no small roles".

Nikolay says he spent 5–6 days carefully watching and analysing how Neanderthals are played so he could get under their skin as fully as possible. He left the rest to his intuition and the foundation provided by his training at the Film Academy for Talents.

After hours of rehearsals and several days of filming, he himself was amazed by the result.

"The crew, the other actors and I worked as one," Nikolay shares on his personal Facebook page. He continues: "I can’t describe exactly how I felt, but whenever I think of those moments I get goosebumps… Doing what I love, that is what makes me truly happy," Nikolay says firmly.

Evgeniya Dobreva is a choreographer by profession and has devoted her entire life to it. She has a ballet school in Balchik.

Evgeniya loves art and has always been connected with it because it gives her great meaning and wonderful feelings. Quite unexpectedly, she was chosen for a Disney production about the first woman to swim the English Channel. "There was a casting, and I am one of the people who see Trudy off and then welcome her on the seashore. It really was an incredible experience," Evgeniya says. "It was my first time in a production of this scale, and the feeling truly is indescribable. You simply have to experience it," Zheni adds.

Evgeniya says that while working with the international crew the atmosphere was wonderful. She and her colleagues talked all night about the production and shared memories, despite their worries about whether they could manage their roles.

Zheni Dobreva heard about the casting through the Film Academy for Talents group, in which she participates enthusiastically.

"I am part of the Film Academy for Talents and have learned many things from Natalia Dukova and Tsvyatko Tsenov, who are wonderful people and teachers," Zheni admits, concluding: "I have always wanted to act, but until now I had no time. Now, after this production, I am determined to pursue film and theatre."

Antonia Lapova is 18 and from Varna. This year she is graduating from the 8th A. S. Pushkin Secondary School of Foreign Languages and is about to apply to NATFA.

Very recently, Antonia auditioned for "Young Woman and the Sea" and was selected for a modest extra role: an adult brunette, not very tall, with brown eyes.

"During daytime filming at Pasha Dere I was a village girl, and during night filming in Shabla I was a young city lady. I had a different look on each filming day. There were many of us in Shabla: 600 extras, several lead actors and the rest of the crew, directors, producers and so on, who were also numerous," Antonia Lapova says.

"Taking part in a production like this is amazing and opens your eyes, because you see what being on a Hollywood set is like. On the other hand, the process is incredibly exhausting: being on your feet for around 12 hours to film 1 scene in what may be a two-hour film is not always pleasant," Antonia says with conviction.

About the Film Academy for Talents school, Antonia says: "The Academy helped me a lot to relax in front of the camera, see things from a different angle and learn new things. But as for finding work with their help, that hasn’t happened in my case."

Antonia Lapova is currently focused on getting into her dream higher education institution, NATFA. Her next priority is appearing in future film projects, with the proviso that action films are her weakness and she would love to appear in more of them.

Emil Kostov has already graduated from the Film Academy for Talents. Thanks to his training, determination and perseverance, he wins various roles, most recently in the BTV series "Dads".

You can see short video clips of his appearance on the Film Academy for Talents’ Facebook page.
